How to Set Up Work Orders

Before you can create a work order, you need to configure a few components. Follow the steps below to set up everything in the right order.

1. Work order type

Work order types help categorise your work orders (e.g., Maintenance, Inspection). You can create as many types as needed, and you must create at least one.

2. Workflow

Workflows define the status flow of a work order (e.g., Open → In Progress → Done).
Each template must be linked to one workflow. You can create multiple workflows for different use cases, and you must create at least one.

3. Custom fields

Decide what information needs to be filled out in the work order. These fields will be used when creating templates.

Templates bring together a type, a set of fields, and a workflow.
They define how a work order will look and behave. You can create multiple templates, and you must create at least one.
